📋 Programme Overview
Concor is a leading South African construction and civil engineering company. Through their Socio-Economic Development (SED) programme, they provide funding to support education, skills development, and community projects – particularly in communities where they operate.
Funding is allocated in accordance with the Construction Sector Code and prioritises projects in communities with limited access to essential services.
🎯 Focus Areas
Structured Programmes
Long-term, structured programmes focused on:
- Early Childhood Development (numeracy & literacy)
- STEM education in primary & secondary schools
- TVET colleges & university support
- Research & innovation in construction/engineering
💰 Funding: R50,000 – R300,000 per year
Discretionary Projects
Once-off, smaller community projects:
- Community health & wellness
- Skills training & entrepreneurship
- Food security & nutrition
- Educational resources & equipment
- Basic refurbishment projects
- Sanitary wear & sanitation
💰 Funding: R5,000 – R50,000
Sikhulisa Fund
Support for orphans & vulnerable children:
- Children’s welfare organisations
- Children living with disabilities
- Children affected by HIV/AIDS
- Children at risk due to abuse & neglect
💰 Funding: R5,000 – R15,000
📍 Priority: Communities with Limited Services
Concor prioritises funding for communities that meet these criteria:
Limited Water Access
Less than 65% of households have piped water
Limited Electricity Access
Less than 80% of households have electricity
Low Income
More than 50% of households in lowest income levels
✅ Eligibility Criteria
🏢 For Organisations
- Well established – in existence for 3+ years
- Formally registered with 18A donation status
- Clear objectives, beneficiaries, budgets
- Projects aligned to focus areas
- Support for national/provincial/local development
- Varied donor base (not dependent on one funder)
- Established M&E, reporting & financial systems
👥 For Beneficiaries
- Black people as defined in B-BBEE Codes
- Women, children, people with disabilities
- Schools, institutions & community groups (not individuals)
- Communities where Concor operates
- Areas with significant labour force representation
- Communities with limited services (priority)
📌 Important: 75% of the annual SED budget goes to Black beneficiaries in disadvantaged communities.
💰 Funding Allocation Guidelines

|---|---|
| Structured Programmes | R50,000 – R300,000 per organisation, per year |
| Discretionary Projects | R5,000 – R50,000 per organisation |
| Sikhulisa Fund | R5,000 – R15,000 per organisation |
Note: Approved organisations can receive funding for up to 3 consecutive years.
